1யோதாம் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, பதினாறு வருஷம் எருசலேமிலே அரசாண்டான்; சாதோக்கின் குமாரத்தியாகிய அவன் தாயின் பேர் எருசாள்.

5அவன் அம்மோன் புத்திரருடைய ராஜாவோடு யுத்தம்பண்ணி அவர்களை மேற்கொண்டான்; ஆதலால் அம்மோன் புத்திரர் அவனுக்கு அந்த வருஷத்திலே நூறு தாலந்து வெள்ளியையும், பதினாயிரங்கலக் கோதுமையையும், பதினாயிரங்கலம் வாற்கோதுமையையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இரண்டாம் மூன்றாம் வருஷத்திலும் அம்மோன் புத்திரர் அப்படியே அவனுக்குச் செலுத்தினார்கள்.
